The Targe, particularly popular during the late 14th century and onwards, was a shield used mostly in hand to hand combat. It could shield one from enemy blows, but was light enough to be carried in one hand, leaving the other hand free for combat.
This training replica from Cold Steel features a thick sturdy boss to protect the hand and a rugged handle that will withstand plenty of use. It is fashioned from high impact Polypropylene, assuring its imperviousness to the elements. Appropriate for training with all non steel swords, its sure to provide years of hard service.
